SUKELCO HOSTS TWO-DAY TRAINERS TRAINING FOR COMMUNITY ORGANIZING
Sultan Kudarat Electric Cooperative, Inc. hosted a two-day Member-Consumer-Owners’ Program for Empowerment (MCOPE) Trainers Training and Workshop for Community Organizing on April 14-15, 2021 at Carlitos Hotel, Isulan, Sultan Kudarat. It was organized by the National Center of Electric Cooperative Association (NCECCO) in partnership with the Association of Mindanao Rural Electrification Cooperatives, Inc. (AMRECO).
Claudia A. Pondales, CPA, SUKELCO General Manager, welcomed the participants. It was also filled with heartfelt messages coming from Dir. David L. Batayola, SUKELCO BOD President, Mr. Godofredo B. Homez, President of CEMRECA, Dr. Pedrito H. Baculio, Secretary General of NCECCO, and Atty. Janeene Depay-Colingan, the Executive Director and General Manager of PHILRECA. The message of Congressman Godofredo N. Guya, Representative of RECOBODA Partylist, also added grace and inspiration to the event.
“Let us all take this good chance and think of where are we really going, during this two-day workshop for community organizing.” Ma’am Corazon D. Cullantes said during her session of Direction Setting and Completing the Mission of Rural Electrification: An Imperative for 1EC-MCO Movement.
Mr Urbano S. Talibong and Mr. Napoleon M. Beleza, Jr., the National Coordinator and National Director of NCECCO, re-oriented the participants on Member-Consumer-Owners Program for Empowerment. Kuya Nap led the hall in emphasizing discipline as an utmost importance in the field.
The first day concluded with Fellowship Dinner to all participants.
The next day was scheduled for Practicum, Assessment/ Evaluation and Critiquing. NCECCO ensured that empowerment of MCOs through organizing and providing downloaded services will further the participation of MCOs in the affairs of the EC Operation.
NCECCO as an independent organization that represents the member-consumer-owners in the Philippines.
