SUKELCO held its Linemen Appreciation Day on August 4, 2025, at the MCO Center, Headquarters, Kalandagan, Tacurong City, to honor the dedication, skills, and sacrifices of its frontline workers—the linemen.
The celebration was livestreamed through the national Facebook Live event spearheaded by Philippine Rural Electric Cooperative Association (PHILRECA) who highlighted the significant contribution of lineworkers all over the country to ensure reliable electricity services in every household.
SUKELCO also prepared progam showing the relevance of our lineworkers in every day operation.
OIC-General Manager Dr. Wilfredo M. Evangelista opened the program with an inspiring message recognizing the indispensable role of lineworkers in maintaining reliable power services.
The event highlighted the giving of tokens to all SUKELCO linemen, a symbolic oath-taking ceremony for the newly elected United Lineman Association of the Philippines (ULAP) officers, and solidarity messages from Board of Directors namely Vivencio E. Necesito, Jr., Lloyd Sean B. Castillano and Ismael S. Bermudez from Lebak, Kalamansig/Palimbang and Lambayong Districts respectively.
Adding fun and camaraderie to the celebration was the “Lineman Got Talent” segment, where teams from different service areas showcased their skills beyond their field.
Messages of Support was also given by several department managers, including Engr. Edgar M. Gatmaitan, Engr. Leo I. Fontanilla, Engr. Phil Garcia, and Engr. Joemar G. Sevillano, all emphasizing the bravery and critical role of linemen in SUKELCO’s operations.
Mr. Francisco L. Torres, Jr., MBA, Institutional Services Department Manager, concluded the event with a heartfelt closing message emphasizing the role of a lineman not just a privilege—but an honorable profession.
To end the day, linemen enjoyed “ME TIME” with free haircuts and grooming services—a well-deserved treat for SUKELCO’s frontline heroes.
