SUKELCO in partnership with the Philippine Rural Electric Cooperatives Association, Inc. (PHILRECA), successfully conducted the nationwide fun run “LAKTAK 2026: Lakad-Takbo – Power Love on the Run” earlier today, February 14, 2026, featuring race categories of 10K, 5K, and 3K.
Held simultaneously with 120 electric cooperatives across the country, the Valentine’s Day event promoted wellness and cooperative spirit among member-consumer owners and EC employees nationwide.
Registration officially opened at 4:30 A.M., drawing enthusiastic participants to the venue in the early hours of the morning. The program formally commenced at 5:00 A.M. with an invocation led by Rochelle C. Fabian, CPA, Corporate Planning and Research Division Supervisor.
Prior to the race proper, Francisco L. Torres, Jr., MBA, ISD Manager, presented an overview of the race routes and safety guidelines to ensure an organized and secure activity for all runners.
Participants then took to the streets with energy and excitement, embodying the event’s theme of spreading love through fitness and camaraderie.
The celebration continued with an awarding ceremony, Zumba session, and cool-down exercises. In his Valentine’s message, Wilfredo M. Evangelista, PhD, OIC-General Manager, emphasized the importance of unityand shared responsibility in building stronger communities. A solidarity message was likewise delivered by Dir. Abdul Razid L. Kamag, Maguindanao District Director, reinforcing the cooperative spirit that binds electric cooperatives nationwide.
Top finishers in each race category received prizes, certificates, and medals in recognition of their outstanding performance and dedication.
Through LAKTAK 2026: Power Love on the Run, SUKELCO once again demonstrated its commitment not only to energizing homes but also to empowering healthy, active, and united communities.
