The Sultan Kudarat Electric Cooperative, Inc. (SUKELCO) successfully conducted its Barangay Power Association (BAPA) Congress on June 16, 2026, gathering ninety (90) BAPA officers and members from the municipalities of Lambayong, President Quirino and Tacurong City.
The congress served as an avenue for SUKELCO to update BAPA officials on key programs, policies and operational matters to strengthen coordination between the cooperative and its partners.
Among the topics discussed were BAPA operation updates, the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), the selection and establishment of BAPA officers and the accountability and responsibilities of BAPA officials.
Participants were also briefed on the Lifeline Discount Program for both 4Ps and non-4Ps beneficiaries, as well as Republic Act No. 11361 or the Anti-Obstruction of Power Lines Act.
SUKELCO management acknowledged the concerns of BAPA Officers and assured them that it would be included in the agenda of the next Management Committee (ManCom) meeting for further discussion and evaluation.
OIC-General Manager Dr. Wilfredo M. Evangelista attended the activity and expressed his appreciation to the BAPA officials for their continued support and commitment in helping the cooperative deliver efficient and reliable electric service to its member-consumer-owners.
Also present to show their support were members of the Board of Directors, including Director Ismael S. Bermudez of the Lambayong District and Director Oscar A. Salamanca, Jr. of the Tacurong District.
The BAPA Congress forms part of SUKELCO’s commitment to strengthening consumer engagement and promoting greater awareness of programs and policies that benefit MCOs.
Another BAPA Congress is scheduled on June 23, 2026, for Area 2, covering the municipalities of Isulan, Esperanza and Bagumbayan.
