The European Union formally turned over 30,500 installed units of solar home systems (SHS) to the beneficiaries of five electric cooperatives across Bukidnon, Sultan Kudarat, Davao del Sur, Cotabato, and South Cotabato.
General Manager, Claudia A. Pondales, CPA, together with TSD Manager, Engr. Joemar Sevillano, PVM Incharge, Engr. Jay-R Demandante, and PVM Section Head, Jimmy Fegarido, received the plaque of Appreciation with the presence of NEA Administrator, Emmanuel Juaneza, yesterday at Davao City for our active participation in the Access to Sustainable Energy Philippines-Photovoltaic Mainstreaming Component.
SUKELCO will receive package that has a 50-watt peak solar panel and a charge controller with lithium-ion batteries to power at least four LED bulbs. The package also comes with a radio, torchlight, and USB ports to charge gadgets.
This initiative is part of the EU’s Php.3.83 billion Access to Sustainable Energy Programme (ASEP).
