Earlier this morning, July 2, 2024, signing of Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was conducted between SUKELCO and Aboitiz Power Corporation through Aboitiz Foundation to fund the implementation of “Light a Mosque”, a corporate social responsibility of the office, that energizes mosques in Maguindanao Areas by providing electrical materials.
The MOA signing witnessed by the management was held at the SUKELCO Board Room with the presence of representative from Aboitiz Power Corporation, William Pana, OIC-General Manager Engr. Joemar G. Sevillano, District Directors from Tacurong, Isulan, Maguindanao, Esperanza and Bagumbayan and Senator Nino Aquino namely; Directors Welson U. Ferrer, Joel D. Durana, Abdulrazid L. Kamag, Kristine Mae P. Saliao and Ali Armie L. Mamalo respectively together with the Committee Head of MILF-Committee on DA-WAH and Masjid Affairs, Abdulmaguid M. Kanapia.
The Aboitiz Power Corporation through its foundation has agreed to release portion of the fund to cover the cost for the implementation and execution of the program. SUKELCO waived the charges for the bill deposits and provided free installation of house wiring materials. Meanwhile, Local Government Units in Maguindanao waived LGU fees such as Electrical Permit and Fire Safety Clearance.
This tripartite partnership among Aboitiz, SUKELCO and LGUs paved the way to promote rural electrification in Maguindanao and eventually foster peace and order in the area.
