April 3, 2025. In a special radio segment aired live on Radyo Kidlat 88.1 FM, PHILRECA Party-list Representative Hon. Presley C. De Jesus and PHILRECA General Manager Atty. Janeene Depay Colingan joined SUKELCO for an engaging and informative interview on the ongoing efforts to strengthen the role of electric cooperatives in national rural development.
The interview focused on PHILRECA’s legislative agenda, consumer empowerment, and the continuing collaboration between the party-list and electric cooperatives like SUKELCO.
Rep. De Jesus reiterated PHILRECA’s mission to protect the interest of member-consumer-owners (MCOs) and ensure sustainable and accessible electricity for all.
“Our work in Congress centers on supporting electric cooperatives through responsive legislation and ensuring that MCOs are well-represented and protected,” said De Jesus.
PHILRECA General Manager Atty. Janeene Colingan emphasized the importance of good governance, transparency, and unity within the electric cooperative sector.
“We are committed to capacitating our ECs through training, support programs, and advocacy work. PHILRECA remains a strong ally in achieving total electrification,” she noted.
