SUKELCO successfully concluded its 40-day Basic Lineman Training Course last June 27, 2025 with participants not only from the coop but also from fellow electric cooperatives namely Basilan Electric Cooperative, Inc. (BASELCO) and COTELCO – PPALMA Electric Cooperative, Inc. including external trainees, held at MCO Center, SUKELCO Headquarters, Kalandagan, Tacurong City.
The comprehensive training course that ran from May 19 to June 27, 2025 aimed to strengthen the technical capabilities of line workers through both classroom instruction and practical field exercises covering modules in line construction, system maintenance, pole climbing, safety procedures, and emergency response techniques.
A total of 46 out of 50 trainees completed the course, which was facilitated by experienced and certified technical instructor, the Master Trainer, Mr. Diosdado Arong.
SUKELCO OIC-General Manager, Dr. Wilfredo M. Evangelista, commended the commitment of the trainees and lauded the partnership with BASELCO and COTELCO-PPALMA. Meanwhile, Board President, Suraina M. Kalid, delivered an uplifting and heartfelt message to the graduates, encouraging them to take pride in their chosen path of service.
Engr. Exequiel T. Evale, Jr. and Mr. Felix C. Canja, Jr., General Manager of COTELCO-PPALMA and acting GM of BASELCO respectively, personally attended the event to show their full support for their respective trainees who completed the intensive technical training.
Ms. Ma. Regina Filoteo, Acting Division Manager of NEA – NETI, also attended the event on behalf of National Electrification Administration, and delivered a meaningful message affirming the program’s alignment with the goals of the National Agency.
Certificates of completion were awarded, and top-performing trainees were recognized for their outstanding performance during the course.
Finally, ISD Manager, Mr. Francisco L. Torres, Jr. MBA gave his closing message and extended his gratitude to the facilitators, SUKELCO leadership, NEA representatives, and the participating cooperatives for their collective effort in making the training program a success.
