SUKELCO successfully conducted a Power Forum on June 24, 2026, at Marilou’s Resto, Pasandalan, Lebak, Sultan Kudarat, to discuss the ongoing transition of the municipalities of Lebak, Kalamansig and portions of Palimbang from an off-grid power system to an on-grid connection.
It was attended by the management team and Board of Directors from SUKELCO, NGCP personnel, government officials, barangay captains, MCO and BAPA officers, big load customers and media partners to gain a deeper understanding of the benefits and implications of the upcoming grid connection project.
In his opening message, OIC-General Manager Dr. Wilfredo M. Evangelista underscored the significance of the project in driving economic growth and improving the quality of life of residents in the covered areas.

Presentations covered the NGCP 69kV transmission line system, Area 3 operational updates, SUKELCO’s distribution system grid connection, and power supply and power rates. These discussions helped participants better understand the benefits of the project and its impact on consumers, businesses, and local communities.
The Local Government Units of Lebak and Kalamansig headed by Hon. Frederic F, Celestial and Hon. Ronan Eugene C. Garcia extended their messages of support, expressing their appreciation for the initiative in ensuring the successful implementation of the project.
The Power Forum served as a venue for dialogue and stakeholder engagement, allowing participants to raise questions and gain a clearer understanding of the transition process. It likewise reinforced SUKELCO’s commitment to transparency, consumer education, and inclusive development as it advances major infrastructure projects aimed at improving electric service across its franchise area.
